What will we do?

Maras is famous for its salt mines, but locals are bearers of a rich cultural heritage too. In this town, hats are part of everyday wear. They are used to provide shade from the Andean sun, but also to tell a person’s origin. Mrs. Grandonia and Mrs. Álvarez have mastered the art of hat-making, a skill that they now share with travelers from all over the world, in their workshop in Maras, a welcoming place filled with authentic local tradition.
