We will head from the hotel towards San Francisco Square, which was built around the San Francisco church. Its baroque style in ashlar and its single-nave vault are what stand out the most. Then, we will continue our way towards the Church of the Company of Jesus, considered the most representative example of Arequipeño arts of the XVII century. Afterwards, we will head to the Main Square – the heart of Arequipa – surrounded by its impressive Cathedral, the Church of the Company of Jesus, the Church of Our Lady of Mercy, and the famous arches built in ashlar. Finally, we will head towards the Convent of Santa Catalina, an icon of Arequipa, built in 1579 for nuns of the Dominican Order. We will take a guided tour through this citadel that preserves the story of once-upon-a-time within its enticing indigo-blue and ocher-coloured cloisters and streets of ashlar.
